What are they saying?

The work and research of Dr Itiel Dror (University of Southampton) was discussed
Why touch technology?
  • De-abstracts mathematics
  • Move beyond claculations
  • Sensory Stimulation Theory (Laird 1985) - the more senses that are used, the more effective the learning that takes place.

Learning analytics can be used as technology grows. Intelligent data (Curriculum Data) and Off Put Data (Social Media) can be analysed to help predictions be made about the prospective learning path of a pupil. By analysing this data regularly, adaptive learning can take place.
Real-time adaptations can be made according to circumstances - both social & academic.

What next?

Explain what relevance this has to us:
  • How will this change your practice?
  • What do you or we need to do differently to make use of this idea?
  • How will it improve learning?

Pay particular attention to the last question: if you can't see how it improves learning, say so.
